Common questions
Does it need the internet?
No. Soothr creates every sound on your phone, so it works in aeroplane mode.
Why did the sound stop?
The sleep timer ended (it fades out slowly first), your headphones were unplugged or disconnected, or a call or alarm couldn’t hand the sound back. Tap play to start again.
Will it play with my phone on silent?
Yes. The Ring/Silent switch doesn’t mute it. Use the volume buttons, or set a Volume ceiling in Settings.
Does it keep playing when my phone is locked?
Yes, until the timer ends. You can pause or play from the lock screen.
What does 432 Hz mean?
The musical scenes are tuned so the note A is 432 Hz, a little lower than the usual 440 Hz. You can switch to 440 Hz in Settings → Tuning.
Can I use it for a baby?
If you do, keep the phone away from the cot and the volume low. A Volume ceiling in Settings helps.
Is there an Android version?
It’s on its way. The website will link to it once it’s on Google Play.
Something woke me. What should I do?
Tell us at hello@soothr.net: which scene, roughly how far into the night, and what it sounded like. We fix those first.
